As Babywearing International (BWI) declares Chapter 7 bankruptcy and ceases to exist, we are pleased to announce that the former BWI of San Diego chapter will continue operations under the name San Diego Carries, Inc. We have finalized our new nonprofit and received our 501(c)3 status from the IRS!
We will continue in our mission of educating and promoting the practice of using baby carriers (“babywearing”) in the San Diego community.

Hello,
My name is Samantha Cartrette. I am currently a member of the Birmingham, AL BWI chapter. My family and I are moving to the San Marcos/Carlsbad area in June for my husband’s work. I would really love to make connections with this chapter if it’s right geographically ( I’m still in the learning phase). If not maybe you can point me in the right direction.

I currently live in San Marcos (actually moving to SE San Diego in mid-June)… I haven’t been active in a babywearing group in San Diego county yet but I am aware that there is a North County Babywearing group (I think they now use the website that used to be used for San Diego Baby wearing). I’m just researching this myself but it looks like the North County group meets a lot less often than the main San Diego group… but would be closer to you in San Marcos or Carlsbad. Good luck!
